JOE GROOMING SPRING COLLECTION VOL. 1
STEP 1
Create a horseshoe parting separating the interior from the exterior.
It is important to note that the parting must fall below the apex area
where the head begins to curve in order to maintain side length.

STEP 2
We begin the cut by taking one inch wide sections, starting on the
side and cutting vertically, palm to palm, in order to maintain a strong
vertical feel on the sides.

STEP 3
Continuing working around the head right to left (or left to right
for left handed stylist) without over-directing.

STEP 4
It is important to note: the area at the back of the head where the
whirl or cowlick is present has been parted out of the way as the back
is cut.

STEP 5
After completing the sides, part the hair down the center and connect
the top to the sides by taking vertical sections, starting at the back
and working your way forward. To maintain top front length, you must begin
to over-direct when you reach the front of the ear. Each successive parting
should be elevated higher than the last.

STEP 6
Continue to over-direct the hair as you reach the front of the head
and continue to increase elevation.

STEP 7
To blend the top into the sides, a large horizontal section is taken
where the blending occurs, and through elevation and point cutting, a visual
blend is achieved.

STEP 8
Large sections are directed to the top of the head in a vertical fashion
and point cut for texture and movement.

STEP 9
By combing the hair down and cutting at zero elevation, we begin to
detail the finished cut and take away any unfinished edges. By utilizing
the point cutting method, we insure that the finished area has no hard
horizontal lines.

STEP 10
To achieve the overall look, areas like the sideburns or the neckline
are carefully detailed to a precise finish in a way that complements without
intruding upon the cut.

JOE GROOMING SPRING COLLECTION VOL. 1
STEP 11
The completed haircut is lean and vertical on the sides and longer
on top for a masculine shape without bulk or heavy weight lines.

STEP 12
For a natural, touchable yet controlled finish, a small amount of JOE
GROOMING Grooming Cream is applied from scalp to end on vigorously towel-dried
hair and worked
into place.
